Late Model Tire Amendment

  • The top 15 drivers in Motor Mile Speedway LMSC points must purchase four tires for each event they enter.

LMSC Crate Engine Rocker Arms

LMSC: 8.2 Optional Crate Engine Rules

LMSC: 8.2.1 General Rules

  • Aftermarket rocker arms 1.5 or 1.6 ratio are permitted on 604 gm crate engines.

Competition Caution

  • Competition cautions will be in effect for 150-lap Late Model Stock Car races. A competition caution will be imposed on the 40th  lap of green flag runs during 150-lap races. If a caution occurs within the 40-lap window, the lap count resets. Competition cautions will not occur in the final 25 laps. This rule does not apply to the TWIN 75 format.

TO: ALL LATE MODEL STOCK CAR OWNERS, CREW CHIEFS AND DRIVERS:

  • Effective January 18, 2016 – The following is a Track Rule that will be implemented by Caraway Speedway, Dominion Speedway, Greenville Pickens Speedway, Langley Speedway, East Carolina Motor Speedway, Motor Mile Speedway, Myrtle Beach Speedway, Southern National Raceway Park and South Boston Speedway.

  • This Track Rule will be used in place of the language defining travel limiting devices only, in Section 20F – 12.1 Coil Springs / Spring Mounts / Jacking Bolts in the 2016 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Rule Book.

  • All other language in Section 20F – 12.1 will remain the same as defined in the 2016 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Rule Book.

Travel Limiting Devices

  • All downward chassis movement while the race vehicle is in competition must be limited only by the normal increasing stiffness of the springs.

Optional:

  • (1) Track-approved front suspension travel limiting device (bump stops, coil binding, etc.) per front wheel may be used. Vehicles with coil-over suspensions will be allowed an external travel limiting device. The mounting hardware must be made of metal and be mounted in the same location as a shock would be mounted on a conventional (big spring) type suspension and mounted with ½ inch diameter magnetic steel bolt and nut.

  • Mechanical travel indicating rods may be used.

  • Remote adjusters for the travel limiting device will not be permitted.

  • Current spring rules and sway bar rules will be enforced.

  • Current shock absorber rules will be enforced with the exceptions of the following two items:

  • (1) The suspension travel may be limited by the shock absorber when travel limiting devices such as bump stops are used on the shock absorber external shaft.

  • (2) The 6 inches and 90 second rule will not be enforced.

  • Height rules such as frame height and fuel cell height etc. must comply to the current rules but will only be inspected before qualifying or before the race. Heights will not be a post-race inspection due to the time required for the race vehicle to return to its normal static height.

2017 Restart Procedures

  • For the 2017 race season at Motor Mile Speedway, all restart line-ups will be determined by the ‘cone-type’ restart.

  • Initial restart line-ups will be determined by the last completed green flag lap. Cars involved in the caution shall blend back into the lineup when it is safe to do so. The Lucky Dog will be determined and will be lined up as the last car on the lead lap. All cars that are one lap or more down will be realigned behind the last car on the lead lap at the end of the longest line. Lapped cars are not eligible to take cone.

  • When the one-to-go signal is given, a cone will be placed at the start/finish line. When the driver reaches the cone, the driver must decide which lane he/she wants to restart in, and will proceed either to the inside or the outside of the cone. When a driver passes the cone, either to the inside or the outside, this is the lane the driver will restart in. Once lane choice has been made it must not be changed. The flagman will be in charge of all starts and restarts.

Green-White-Checkered Finishes

  • There will be a maximum of (3) attempts at a Green-White-Checkered finish. If the caution is displayed during the first (2) attempts prior to the white flag lap, the field will be realigned by the last completed green flag lap, for the exception of the cars involved in the caution. Restarting positions of the cars involved in the caution will be determined based upon where cars blended into the field after their involvement in the caution.

  • If the caution is displayed during the white flag lap of any attempt at a green-white checkered, THE RACE WILL BE OVER AND the race order will be frozen with the cars involved in the caution placed at the end of their completed lap line.

  • If the caution is displayed at any time during the third and final attempt, THE RACE WILL BE OVER AND the race order will be frozen with the cars involved in the caution placed at the end of their completed lap line.

2017 LMSC 150’s: Caution laps WILL count.

2017 TWIN 75’s RULES

Caution laps will not count.

Qualifying- fastest lap for first race:

  • The finishing order of first race will determine the starting order of the second race. PER NASCAR RULES, THERE WILL BE A MANDATORY EIGHT-CAR (AT MINIMUM) INVERSION PRIOR TO THE START OF THE SECOND RACE BASED ON THE FINISHING ORDER OF THE FIRST RACE.

  • Drivers must run at least 40 laps of the first race to be eligible to start the second race. Crashes or mechanical failures will be exceptions.

  • The same (4) tires that are ran in the first race must be used for the second race. If a driver has a damaged or cut tire, only branded scuff tires from Motor Mile Speedway’s scuff tire bin will be allowed as replacements. Drivers have 20 minutes following the checkered flag of the first race to alert track officials that a replacement is needed. If a driver has to change a tire, the driver must start at the rear of the field. Turning of tires on rims will not be allowed. Bent or damaged rims can be replaced without penalty. Any tire or wheel changes must have prior approval of track officials.

If a driver incurs a flat tire during the race, a scuff tire of the team’s choice may be used. The tire in question will be inspected by track officials, and any subsequent ruling based on the inspection will be at the discretion of track officials.

Back-up cars must run at least 40 laps of the first race to be eligible to start the second race.

The pole award will be awarded to the fastest qualifier of the first race.
